Note Wheel
Cleartune's notewheel interface is first of a kind. The notewheel allows you to quickly identify how close you are to the note you are tuning. In Pitch Pipe and manual modes, the note wheel becomes a selector for your note. Simply spin it with your finger to select your target note.
Fine Tuning Display
Lock on to a tighter tune with the fine tuning meter at the top. The fine-tuning meter has an ultra high accuracy of ±1 cent for the perfect tune.
Precision
Cleartune's high precision tuning algorithm is more than you can shake a tuning fork at. The average human can just notice a 5 cent difference in pitch. Many tuners are only accurate to ±5 cents - which can make chords or ensembles sound noticably dull. With ±1 cent precision, Cleartune makes music sound better.
Pitch Pipe
Use the pitch pipe feature to generate notes. Tap the pitch pipe button, then select your note by spinning the note wheel. Once you've selected your note, tap the on/off button in the center to start sounding the tone, and use the buttons on the side of your device to adjust the volume. In the options panel, you can select between several different waveforms.
Temperaments
Cleartune includes 23 temperaments out of the box, and if we missed one, you can enter in your own.
Notations
Not everyone names their notes the same. That's why Cleartune supports alternate notations. Learning sight singing or sol-fa? Switch the notation to solfège to make sure your pitches are spot on. Cleartune tunes virtually any instrument, including the human voice!
Transposition
If you play a transposing instrument, set the transposition wheel to your instrument's key so that the notes will read correct for that instrument. If you play a non-transposing instrument such as guitar or piano, leave it at C.
Calibration
Cleartune supports A4 calibration in increments of 0.1Hz. This is especially handy for some baroque musicians who don't want to round 415.3Hz to 415Hz.
Needle Damping
If you play a wind instrument, you may notice that Cleartune responds very fast to pitch changes. This can make it difficult to tune, as the fine tuning needle can oscillate in response to vibrato. Simply enable the needle damping option, and Cleartune will dampen the needle response and filter out the vibrato for a stable tune.
Note Lock
In tuning mode, tap the note lock button to enable manual note selection. Once it's locked, you can spin the wheel to select the note you would like to tune. In pitch pipe mode, turning off note lock will allow you to select pitches between notes for special circumstances.
